Friendship Circle provides recreational, social, educational and vocational programming to children with special needs, striving to enhance the friendship and inclusion we all need as individuals. Lessons for Life is a ground-breaking life skills program, based on research proving that students have greater comprehension when taught skills in a true-to-life setting. Lessons for Life is centered in Weinberg Village, a 5,000 square-foot cityscape in which students are taught 9 essential life skills in lessons tailored to the abilities and skill level of each participant. Skills include: money and time management, following directions, problem solving, communication and socialization, safety, employment and budgeting.

“We are very excited to support the Lessons for Life program,” said Nicholas Schrock, owner of Schrock Insurance Group. “Making our community better and stronger is the ultimate goal of our Community Program, and getting these kids the help they need to become safe, happy, contributing members of our community is something which should motivate us all.”

Schrock Insurance hopes that the current initiative will bring awareness to the ongoing challenges faced by children with special needs and the essential work being done by Friendship Circle. The agency’s caring team has set a fundraising goal of $500, with the agency itself pledging to donate $10 to Lessons for Life for every recommendation they receive for an insurance quote, with no purchase necessary.
