FlexMode allows the technician to create a local database on his mobile device so that he can still access and modify work orders and work site information. The changes will accurately sync to the back office when a signal becomes available.

FieldConnect, Inc., longtime innovator and expert in field mobility solutions, announced today the addition of FlexMode to its FieldAccess™ mobile technician software, empowering field employees who work in locations where an internet or cellular signal is not always available. FieldAccess allows field technicians to access, modify, and complete electronic work orders from the field, eliminating paper and trips into the office.

“This has long been an issue for field technicians, particularly in certain industries,” says FieldConnect Director of Development Greg Valenzuela. “Think of an oil and gas industry engineer going offshore to repair a rig, or a plumbing technician who works in a basement. These techs can’t be assured of a reliable signal. FlexMode allows the technician to prepare for this by basically creating a local database on his mobile device that he can access and update, and that will accurately sync with the existing back office accounting system when a signal becomes available.”

FieldConnect solutions integrate seamlessly with several popular back office accounting systems, including Microsoft Dynamics AX, GP, SL, and NAV, Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate (CRE) and Sage 300 Trade Specialty (formerly Sage Timberline) and Viewpoint Construction Software’s Viewpoint V6.

FlexMode for FieldAccess will initially be available to companies running Microsoft Dynamics SL and Viewpoint V6, with a version for Sage 300 CRE right around the corner.
