Filter Forge 9.0 Released, Adds Physically Based Rendering (PBR)

After a successful beta test, Filter Forge, Inc. announced the final release of Filter Forge 9.0, a node-based image processing and texturing tool allowing computer artists to create realistic textures. The new version introduces support for physically based rendering (PBR) – the industry standard for real-world texturing in 3D modeling and rendering.

Filter Forge 9.0 introduces the long-awaited support for physically based rendering (PBR). It is a modern method of texture shading and rendering that provides an accurate representation of how light interacts with physical surfaces. The new Filter Forge 9 supports texture generation and packing for Unity 2018 and Unreal Engine 4, including textures for albedo, height, normal, roughness, metallic, emission, and occlusion channels.
