Fireside Restaurant Awarded Wine Spectator’s 2018 Best of Award of Excellence
PORT LUDLOW, Wash. (PRWEB) July 30, 2018 -- The Best of Award of Excellence was created to give special recognition to restaurants that clearly exceed the requirements of the Award of Excellence. These wine lists typically offer 350 or more selections, along with superior presentation, and display either vintage depth, with several vertical offerings of top wines, or excellent breadth across several wine regions.
The Fireside will be featured on http://www.winespectator.com and in the August 31st issue which is available now.
Sommelier Andrew Wiese discovered his passion for wine twenty years ago in Sydney, Australia, and has worked in wine retail, production, and service in Australia, Germany, and the US. He holds an advanced qualification from the globally respected, London-based Wine & Spirit Education Trust. Since joining the Fireside Restaurant in 2017, Andrew has increased the focus of the wine program on the best local and regional wines while also seeking out leading and lesser-known highlights from around the world.
The Fireside offers an eclectic blend of Northwest fare utilizing the rich bounty of local farms, artisan meats, and cheeses. The dishes feature superb cuts of organically raised local beef and lamb, an abundant variety of fresh seafood and produce from local farmers, picked off the vine and onto the table the same day. The Fireside and the Inn at Port Ludlow continue to draw in wine enthusiasts with their ongoing wine dinners. With great anticipation, the next wine dinner will feature Chris Sparkman from Sparkman Cellars located in Woodinville, WA, on October 26th.
The Resort at Port Ludlow is a Master Planned Community that is nestled on the shores of the Puget Sound, less than 10 minutes from the west end of the Hood Canal Bridge. Once a logging and ship building town, Port Ludlow has grown into a vibrant community that hosts beautiful residential neighborhoods, a 37-room boutique waterfront inn, an award winning restaurant, a 300-slip marina, and a championship 18-hole golf course, recognized as the “Most Scenic in the World” by Esquire Magazine.
