The First Stand-Up Comedy Special Shot Entirely on iPhones
Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) June 24, 2015 -- Stand-Up Comedian Owen Smith, known from appearances on "Conan", "The Arsenio Hall Show", and Comedy Central, makes comedy history as the first comedian to film a Stand-up Comedy Special entirely on iPhones. "Good Luck Everybody" was recorded live at Mi’s Westside Comedy Theater in Santa Monica, California. Smith purchased 10 iPhones, used them to film the special, and returned them to the Apple store the next day. True story.
“I had something to say and didn’t want to fight through the conventional Hollywood channels to say it. Plus, the cameras on the iPhones are so good now, I knew I could achieve the same level of quality as any top comedy special out there,” Smith says.
Determined to produce a professional-grade special, Smith Directed and Executive Produced "Good Luck Everybody". Veteran comedy manager Barry Katz also served as EP. Emmy-Award Winning Director of Photography, Bill Berner served as DP, and Emmy-Award Winning editor Jeff U’ren, who also cut specials by Dave Chappelle, Lewis Black, and Kathy Griffith, edited the hour.
