First Utility, the UK’s largest independent energy supplier, has been ranked in the Sunday Times Fast Track 100 for the third year in a row. The Fast Track 100 annual league table ranks Britain’s fastest growing private companies.

Ranked number 24, First Utility has demonstrated consistently rapid growth as it continues to challenge the ‘Big Six’ incumbent energy companies in the UK. With a genuine focus on minimising energy bills through cheaper tariffs and helping customers use less, First Utility is capturing consumers’ attention as many look for alternatives to the Big Six.

First Utility announced in October that it would freeze prices until after the winter while all the major providers announced price increases. The company is also actively campaigning for change in the energy industry. In September, it launched a campaign to ‘Fix the Switch’ and speed up the time it takes to switch energy provider from 4-5 weeks to just one day. The campaign has attracted lots of support from the industry and consumer groups who recognise the importance of reforming the industry for the better.
