GUELPH, Ontario, Oct. 24, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ShipperBee today announced the expansion of its regionally based shipping solution across Southwestern Ontario at the 2019 CITT Canada Logistics Conference being held at the Hilton Niagara Falls, in Niagara Falls, Canada October 23-25, 2019.
ShipperBee is a first-of-its-kind end-to-end delivery system that pays its collaborative delivery driver network to deliver parcels using its network of Hive transfer mailboxes located at gas and convenience locations. These certified, background checked, and rated drivers use the Hives as pick-up and drop-off points for packages, like a baton in a relay.
"ShipperBee is not like any other regional shipping partner," said ShipperBee's founder and chief executive officer, Jim Estill. "It's built on a personal passion of mine — reducing the environmental impact that ground shipping has on the planet. Plus, our solution allows businesses to remain competitive with a shipping solution that is significantly less expensive than larger shipping companies — it's an all-round win-win scenario."
With ShipperBee, businesses receive a transparent and simple pricing model that saves up to 33% on regional shipping. The model removes hidden fees, residential fees and fuel surcharges that traditional carriers add to their monthly invoice. The price shippers see in the platform is the price they pay, eliminating the surprise of a significantly higher bill and the hassle of reconciling surcharges and fees from their carrier at the end of the billing cycle.
Shippers and their customers have access to real-time GPS tracking, providing full visibility into where their parcel is at every step of the shipping process. "Whether on route with a driver or awaiting pick-up at a Hive, the parcel's exact location can be pinpointed at any time. The functionality is similar to what you would see in your Uber or Lyft app as you travel from point A to B," adds Estill. When parcels are out for last mile delivery, an update is sent to the shipper along with photo confirmation for proof of delivery when the customer isn't available to personally receive the package.
The company's patented process bypasses the traditional hub-and-spoke system, taps into unused space in vehicles already on the road, and plots a direct delivery route for every parcel shipped. This combination provides a faster and more efficient delivery process, as well as reductions in carbon emissions. "Based on our recent studies, by eliminating the traditional hub-and-spoke system and using cars and people already on the road, not only are we reducing the amount of congestion and medium to large trucks on the road, but we're also reducing carbon emissions for every parcel we deliver by 73.1%," further adds Estill.
ShipperBee will be available throughout North America in 2020. To learn more, please visit booth #7 at the event or http://www.shipperbee.com.
