Fisher & Paykel ActiveSmart™ Refrigerators Receive ENERGY STAR® Certification – And Beyond
Huntington Beach, California (PRWEB) July 15, 2014 -- Fisher & Paykel Appliances, Inc., a global design innovator and manufacturer of indoor and outdoor home appliances, announced its ActiveSmart 17-cubic foot, bottom freezer refrigerators have received ENERGY STAR certification and its 20-cubic foot, French door refrigerators have earned the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2014 designation. ENERGY STAR certification and the prestigious ENERGY STAR Most Efficient designation illustrate Fisher & Paykel’s commitment to the environment and to the affinity of its premium customers.
“This year, the EPA is requiring every manufacturer of refrigerators to improve their energy requirements,” said Scott Davies, brand marketing manager for Fisher & Paykel. “However, because our company has an inherent environmental commitment, as do our premium customers, we design and manufacture our 17-cubic foot, bottom freezer fridges to ENERGY STAR certification standards and our 20-cubic foot, French door models to ENERGY STAR Most Efficient levels.”
The ENERGY STAR Most Efficient 2014 designation recognizes the most efficient products among those that qualify for the ENERGY STAR program. These exceptional refrigerators represent the leading edge in energy efficient products this year, according to ENERGY STAR. ENERGY STAR Most Efficient is a new program element to identify and advance highly efficient products in the marketplace. This effort identifies the most efficient products among those that are ENERGY STAR certified in particular product categories. Product categories were selected and recognition criteria were established to ensure that products that receive this recognition demonstrate efficiency performance that is truly exceptional, inspirational, or leading edge consistent with the interests of environmentally-motivated consumers and early adopters.
“Fisher & Paykel aims to meet the highest industry standards with our appliances achieving top ranking results with ENERGY STAR. Over the past thirty years our appliance energy and water usage has decreased across all our appliances. The most dramatic result in energy use is from the highest-consuming large appliance in the house, the refrigerator, which has reduced energy consumption on average by over 60 percent,” says Davies.
