New Post from Bedros Keuilian Explains Difference Between Spending on Fitness Marketing and Investing In It
Chino Hills, CA (PRWEB) September 26, 2014 -- Bedros Keuilian is a well-known fitness marketing coach and founder of the fastest-selling fitness franchise in the world, Fit Body Boot Camp. In his latest blog post, he explains that, when it comes to marketing, there’s an important difference between spending time and money and investing it.
“Look at it this way,” says Keuilian. “You spend money on a hamburger, but you’re not investing in it, because you don’t expect a return. When we buy stocks or gold or what have you, we’re investing money, because we expect to make money back. That’s the key – an investment has a return but spending doesn’t, even though we might expect it to.”
Keuilian explains that marketing costs both time and money, two things that are at a premium for the new or small business owner and two things that should be carefully tracked to make sure they’re well-spent.
“Too many people throw all kinds of money into their fitness marketing, buying Yellow Pages ads and ads on Facebook, but they don’t track the results,” he explains. “If you don’t know how much you’re making from your marketing, then you’re just throwing money out there and hoping you’re throwing it in the right direction.”
Keuilian says that fitness business owners also need to understand the difference between advertising and marketing.
“Advertising is passive. You pay the money and wait for results,” he explains. “Marketing is active. You actively pursue your target market and then you actively pursue sales from that marketing. All marketing is meant to increase sales and both sales and marketing require your active participation.”
Keuilian adds that some of the best fitness marketing strategies require very little or even no money at all, and that some are more time consuming than others, but that spending a great deal of money is no guarantee of effectiveness.
“I know people who spend thousands of dollars a year on phone book ads and other advertising that never brings them a single new client,” says Keuilian. “But I know many, many more people who employ a number of email marketing and social media strategies that bring them thousands of dollars a month in new revenue. Those are the strategies that I share on my blog and with my coaching clients.”
Keuilian explains that the upshot of his blog post is that spending relieves a person of their money, but investing their time and money on marketing increases both.
“When you invest your time and money in effective fitness marketing, it makes you more money and that money affords you more time to do what makes you feel happy and successful.”
