Flekt Now Offers First-Ever Studio-Quality Light from Your Camera’s Pop-Up Flash
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) January 24, 2014 -- Never before has anyone been able to achieve professional-quality light from a pop-up flash. But now, Flekt offers semi-pro photographers, up-and-coming amateurs and creatives alike the chance to make their subjects look their best. Flekt attaches to a camera’s hot shoe, and redirects light from a pop-up flash 180 degrees back into a concave dish with retroreflective coating, offering remarkable, studio-quality light like never before.
There are three different parts to the Flekt system; the magAttach, the Ignitor Reflector, and an array of attachments that reflect the light back on the subject. The magAttach simply slips onto the camera’s hot shoe, and is ready to provide a hub for the reflectors. The front part accepts the Ignitor Reflector and the back accepts any attachment designed for the Flekt System and uses a proprietary magnetic pivot system to place the light exactly where it’s needed. Flekt’s Ignitor Reflector redirects the light from the pop-up flash back into the attachment on the photographer’s system. Designed after a right-angle prism, but with concave reflectors, it is an efficient way to redirect light without losing it.
This revolutionary system has been designed to work with most DSLR cameras, and has been tested with Nikon, Canon, Olympus and Minolta. Flekt is committed to making a universal product.
Any type of photography requires the right lighting; indoor, headshots, portraits, product photography and more. However, it’s difficult for aspiring photographers to enjoy the experience without a large budget and steep learning curve. Flekt is a pleasant alternative to lugging around tons of heavy gear, giving users a new option to shoot on location easily and quickly. Flekt is highly portable and light, offering tons of creativity and great results in a small package.
“As an amateur photographer, I got to a point where I wanted to start taking better photographs, so I got into studio photography. One of the products I used to rent all the time was a beauty dish – it was consistently some of the best light I got, so I started wondering if I could create the same quality lighting from the pop up flash,” says Vance. “That’s when I met with Impact Design Associates, and we got started working on a prototype.”
Over the next 60 days, Vance and his Kickstarter marketing team at Command Partners will run a crowdfunding campaign with the goal of raising $70,000 from backers and early adopters to cover the costs of initial manufacturing runs.
In exchange for backing the project, supporters from around the world have the chance to get their hands on the very first production run of Flekt for the early bird price of $65 and then $75 once the early bird special has sold out. Although Flekt currently runs for $75 on Kickstarter, supporters can make a pledge anywhere from $1 upward to help Vance and his team reach their goal.
