The market is hot for fixing and flipping properties says real estate expert Lex Levinrad.

"Low inventory, increased demand from first time home buyers, and steadily increasing prices create a market that is perfect for flippers," says Levinrad.

Levinrad is the founder of the Distressed Real Estate Institute which is based in Boca Raton Florida. He founded his company in 2009 to teach real estate investors how to take advantage of the collapse in housing prices by investing in distressed real estate.

"The market is very different now to what it was like back then," says Levinrad. In 2009 we were buying houses for $35,000 that had previously sold for as much as $200,000. Prices on those same homes that we purchased in 2009 are now up to $150,000 which represents about 75% of the price from the previous market high.

"I would say we are in the 6th or 7th inning as far as pricing is concerned in single family homes. That means we could have a few good years ahead of us for fixing and flipping properties. However in certain markets like the Miami Condo Market I think we are already at the peak," said Levinrad.

Levinrad teaches new real estate investors how to find properties to purchase, fix and flip for a profit. “We have had phenomenal success with our students,” says Levinrad. “Some of our students have quit their jobs to pursue flipping properties. We have a few students that are now multi millionaires from investing in real estate,” said Levinrad.

"The key is knowing what a house will be worth once it is repaired, what it will cost to repair the house, and also knowing the right price to purchase the property," said Levinrad.
