Lanteigne built his narrative around a simple and accessible message: “If a family sticks together and hangs onto faith, there will always be hope.

In his new biography “The Fisherman's Wife” (published by AuthorHouse), author Florent Lanteigne has crafted a compelling story of survival, hope and determination inspired by his mother and her sacrifices.
This touching memoir tells the true story of a family’s survival and how a mother – the fisherman’s wife – battled with hardship that trailed a devastating tragedy. The fisherman’s son – Lanteigne – tells this story with an innocent, childlike perspective intertwined with spiritual reflection of a time full of pain, triumph, laughter and adventure.
An excerpt from “The Fisherman’s Wife”:
“Women and men from this era showed a big difference from our time and age. I have experienced health and sickness, poverty and wealth, joy and sorrow, yet, to the best of my ability, I have kept a positive mental attitude throughout all those situations. I have asked a few women from those times who have raised and lived with men of the sea, and they all said that they didn’t complain because women before them, like their mothers, had it worse.”
Lanteigne built his narrative around a simple and accessible message: “If a family sticks together and hangs onto faith, there will always be hope.”
