Mold in West Lafayette City Hall Prompts Relocation, Florida Air Quality Testing Company AGC Environmental Gives Tip to Help Others Avoid the Same Incident
Lafayette, IN (PRWEB) February 10, 2014 -- Because of mold, West Lafayette City Hall employees were relocated. And stating that the fungus could send anyone else packing, Florida air quality testing company AGC Environmental shared a tip how the public could prevent it.
A report from sfgate.com published on February 07, 2014 stated that the mold was discovered during a water damage cleanup. It detailed that the damage was due to the bursting of a pipe that happened last month.
Based on the report, a testing showed that the mold particularly affected the basement of the building. It said that it also raised concerns about the air quality in two other floors.
To protect the health of the employees, the report relayed that the clerk-treasurer's staff was moved to the neighboring building, where the police station is, on Thursday. It added that the rest of the offices will be transferred soon as well.
Below is a part of the said report.
“Workers are packing up and moving out of West Lafayette's City Hall, driven out by mold discovered during the cleanup of water damage caused by a ruptured water pipe.
Mayor John Dennis said testing done after the pipe froze and burst last month found bad air quality in the building's basement and raised concerns about air quality on the two other floors.”
AGC Environmental said that with mold presence comes various health problems and spending. Because of that, it stated that mold removal is imperative. And as it asserted, it must be done early so its worst effects are prevented.
However, the company stated that one would need to confirm first the fungus' presence before he could get rid of it. And to do that, an air quality test is needed, it said.
Nevertheless, for a Florida air quality testing, AGC Environmental asserted that its service is the best. That's because it is being performed by certified experts who offer hard data about the problem that could be used in various court purposes, it cited.
Moreover, like its other environmental services, the company said that its air test follows the state's guideline. Hence, everyone could rest assured that it is effective and safe, it added.
