Fly Away Simulation Expand Selection of FSX, FSX: Steam Edition and Prepar3D Freeware Add-Ons
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) July 30, 2018 -- Fly Away Simulation, one of the web's largest flight simulator news and add-on portals have announced a push to increase their selection of freeware add-ons and downloads for flight sim packages including Microsoft Flight Simulator X, Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition and Lockheed Martin's Prepar3D.
Fly Away Simulation already have a vast selection of files and mods for the simulator packages but plan to increase the selection even further. The file library already has over 24,000 files.
With the release of FSX: Steam Edition and Prepar3D v4, some of the older files are sometimes not compatible with the latest versions. Fly Away Simulation hope to improve this by upgrading existing add-ons and adding a selection of newly developed add-ons designed to work flawlessly with the next generation of simulators.
The file library at Fly Away Simulation covers various expansions including: aircraft, scenery, mods and utilities. The most popular sections are the heavy/civil aircraft such as the Boeing 787, Boeing 747 and Airbus series which are planned to be focused on first. Popular aircraft commonly downloaded from the site include Concorde, Boeing 747, Boeing 787 and military such as Chinook, F-35 Lightning and the F-16.
The recent upgrades and expansion of new files plans to help with compatibility with Prepar3D v4's 64-bit mode and FSX: Steam Edition's issues with DX10. Currently, many aircraft add-ons include gauge files that are incompatible with 64-bit platforms so will need to be upgraded. Also, when using DX10 mode in FSX, some aircraft files do not show the textures correctly and appear blank. These are well known issues when using older mods with the new simulator platforms.
All of the files, add-ons and expansions available on Fly Away Simulation are completely free-of-charge to download and use. You don't even need to sign-up to the website in order to download any of the files.
Fly Away Simulation do offer a PRO membership perk that allows users to access various extra features of the website including unrestricted download speed, the ability to download more than one file at once and other features including a full forum profile, the ability to post a website link on comments, discounts on payware products from the flight sim store, SimShack and more.
Also featured on the website are X-Plane 11 expansions. The X-Plane sections are also undergoing expansion due to the increased community interest in this platform. With Dovetail Games' Flight Sim World cancelled by the developer, users are shifting over to X-Plane like never before as an alternative to the somewhat dated FSX platform.
Fly Away Simulation aim to provide the most complete file detail and preview to help users decide on what files to download. All of the files include a archive preview, showing what files are inside an archive before downloading. Screenshots are also featured on most of the files so users can see the add-on in action before choosing to download. Most recently, many of the most popular files have preview videos which are around 5 minutes long showing the add-ons in full detail which include outside shots, cockpit shots and demonstration of the aircraft in flight.
