Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) September 27, 2016 -- Succeed Management Solutions, LLC has released three new training courses on the topics of effective food processing hygiene practices, the role of facility design, and how to develop a HACCP program. The material in the courses addresses various subparts of Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 110 (21 CFR 110) to assure compliance in the operation of a food processing facility. Food contamination not only threatens the health and well-being of consumers but can also damage the public’s perception of an organization’s products, putting the reputation and finances of a food processing organization at risk.
Recently, a Hepatitis A outbreak in Hawaii has been linked to frozen, imported scallops. There are currently 271 confirmed cases and more than one-quarter of those infected have shown severe symptoms that have required hospitalization. Restaurants which have been serving the scallops raw have been ordered to close for cleaning and sanitation (from Food Safety News, 09/14/16). It is crucial to ensure employees are applying proper precautions to prevent food contaminants throughout every step of the process.
Succeed’s food safety courses are intended for all members of food processing and packaging facilities. The GMP – Keeping it Clean course discusses sources of physical, biological, and chemical food contaminants and how to prevent introduction of contaminants into the processing environment. The GMP – Facility Design for Compliance course is intended for administrators and supervisors and provides tools to improve the design in and around food facilities. The Understanding HACCP course explains best practices to create, implement, and maintain a HACCP plan.
The trainings include interactive scenarios and embedded quiz questions for employees to actively apply their knowledge to assure compliance with food safety rules. These courses are an easy and efficient way to achieve compliance in an organization.
As with all Succeed courses, this training can be assigned to employees via Training Track™, an application that is designed to automate all aspects of an employee training program. Training Track™ is one of the available applications in Succeed’s web-based Risk Management Center. The Risk Management Center also contains other OSHA-required programs, training materials, and integrated software solutions.
Organizations will also be able to access the trainings via OpenSesame: GMP – Keeping it Clean - English, GMP – Keeping it Clean – Spanish, GMP – Facility Design for Compliance, and Understanding HACCP.
