Teaware Company The Tea Spot Announces New Multi-Use Teapot with Silicone Spout in Development–the Flex Teapot
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) October 07, 2014 -- The Tea Spot announces today a new teapot in development for easy preparation and serving of loose leaf tea. Named “Flex Teapot”, this newest product in the company’s Steepware® line will be designed for making 16 oz of whole leaf tea. It will be geared towards the foodservice sector. The product design is U.S. patent-pending.
The new loose leaf teapot will be molded in durable stoneware ceramic, with lead and cadmium-free glaze. It will be paired with a large tea infuser, filling more than half of the total teapot volume. The full-size infuser allows whole leaf teas ample room to infuse to their maximum flavor and aroma potential, yielding a premium pot of tea. A handle crafted from sustainable bamboo will grace the upper silhouette of the Flex Teapot’s design, and will provide for cool handling and balanced pouring. The handle rotates down to the horizontal position for easy removal of the infuser and cleaning of the teapot. Similar to previous Steepware® teapot designs, the lid is secured solidly in place by a silicone ring which simplifies the pouring process.
The Flex Teapot gets its name from a patent-pending spout design. The spout tip is manufactured entirely from a high-durometer silicone rubber. This spout design enables precise pouring of tea without drips, and allows for more durable and forgiving use by decreasing the chances of the spout chipping. The product is designed to stand up to high-impact restaurant use and is industrial dishwasher safe.
The need for a more flexible and durable teapot for the premium tea market in the U.S. is precipitated by the rapid growth of this sector. Specialty tea is growing at a rate exceeding twelve percent each year, according to the Tea Association of the U.S.A., Inc. Increased consumer awareness of the health benefits and superior flavor of full leaf tea is driving much of the demand for loose leaf tea in foodservice. Many restaurants and coffee shops are meeting this opportunity by expanding their premium tea options with whole leaf teas.
The Tea Spot’s CEO and Steepware® developer, Maria Uspenski, announced the development of the new product today: "Our evolution in teapots has moved, with each new development, to simpler more streamlined and robust designs. Our wonderful customers, who are never shy about letting us know what they’d like to see next, had encouraged me to come up with an affordable and durable solution for serving our whole leaf teas in restaurants and cafes. With Flex, I think we’ve arrived at a playful and elegant solution. Development on the product is now complete, and we look forward to having this teapot available for our customers during the 2014-2015 tea season.”
The Flex Teapot will be available in winter white glaze with multiple color options for the Flex Spout™: Blueberry, Green Tea, Strawberry and Black. It will be available for wholesale sale and for retail purchases at their online tea store.
