Columbus, OH (PRWEB) November 13, 2013 -- Dr. Lee Hlad will join the six member team at Step Lively Foot and Ankle Centers to accept new patients of all ages and has a special interest in adult and pediatric deformities of the foot and ankle. He will see patients at Step Lively Foot and Ankle Center’s Gahanna and North Office locations.
“I see a wide range of patients with a wide range of injuries, from simple deformities to complex conditions,” he said. “One of the most common symptoms I see is heel pain.”
Recently, Hlad finished a highly recognized fellowship at the International Center for Limb Lengthening in Baltimore, Maryland where he focused on limb length discrepancies, adult and pediatric deformities and clubfoot, as well as infection management. He completed his surgical residency at OhioHealth Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Hlad was recently a faculty member on a surgical medical mission’s trip to Port-au-Prince, Haiti where his group performed 33 pediatric and adult reconstructive procedures.
Dr. Hlad says was exposed to podiatric medicine at a young age and never looked back.
“I shadowed a family practitioner in high school who exposed me to a wide range of specialties, and this seemed like a good fit,” he said. “I only applied to podiatry school.”
Dr. Hlad is very involved in research and has been published in peer reviewed journals and is actively involved in many current studies. He is committed to using leading-edge technology and treatments.
“I would describe my approach as evidence based, I rely a lot on evidence based medicine and literature,” he said. “To be successful in the ever-changing environment of medicine you must be willing to learn, change, mold, adapt and collaborate with a comprehensive team composed of many specialties for the best medical and surgical outcomes for our patients.”
