Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) September 24, 2014 -- Forest2Market’s Vice President of Marketing and Sales, Suzanne Hearn, will retire at the end of September. Hearn joined Forest2Market in 2006 as Marketing Manager, a role which quickly expanded into sales. She has been responsible for the launch of Forest2Market’s bioenergy and lumber practices. During her tenure, sales increased by 350 percent.
Hearn has also provided valuable service for the industry, serving as Chair of the Marketing Committee for the North American Wholesale Lumber Association (NAWLA) and as a member of the United States Industrial Pellet Association’s (USIPA) Sustainability Committee.
“Suzanne Hearn has been an important contributor to Forest2Market’s growth since 2006,” says Peter J. Stewart, President and CEO of Forest2Market. “Together, we have watched many changes occur in the forest products industry. Suzanne has been there at every step to formulate sales and marketing strategies that move us forward. She will be missed.”
Forest2Market began transitioning Hearn’s responsibilities to other staff members once she announced her retirement earlier this summer. Peter Coutu, Director of North American Sales, will lead forest products industry sales, and Peter Stewart, CEO and President, is now overseeing Forest2Market’s lumber service, Mill2Market.
Tracy Leslie has been named Director, Forest Biomaterials and Sustainability Services. In this role, she is responsible for opening new markets for Forest2Market data subscriptions and analytic services. She joins Stan Parton, Manager of Bioenergy Sector Sales. The new team will expand the use of Forest2Market’s product offerings into existing bioenergy markets as well as emerging markets in biofuels, biochemicals and sustainability.
“Tracy’s experience in energy, renewables and industrial wood pellets makes her the perfect fit for our growing business in forest biomaterials, which includes solid and liquid biofuels as well as biochemicals,” says Stewart. “She has worked closely with major players in the industrial wood pellet industry and their European and Asian buyers. Because of this, she is ideally positioned to provide seamless customer service to our current customers and to expand that customer base further. We’re excited that she is joining our sales team.”
Prior to joining Forest2Market, Leslie served as Director of Sales for Enviva, the world’s largest manufacturer of biomass fuel. While there, she negotiated and executed long-term agreements to supply woody biomass and wood pellets to major U.S. and European utilities.
Leslie also served in a variety of roles at Duke Energy, including Renewable Energy Strategy Manager where she was responsible for developing cost-effective renewable energy opportunities. Her accomplishments at Duke include working closely with Forest2Market during hearings before the North Carolina Utilities Commission to successfully defend an expansive definition of biomass as a renewable energy source.
