Last January, DocPath, a leading document software provider, announced that the company will continue to actively participate in the FORTE agreement throughout 2016, for the second year in a row. FORTE is a cooperation agreement promoted by the Advanced School of Computer Engineering of the University of Castilla La Mancha (UCLM) in Spain. The goal of the agreement is to increase post-university job opportunities of Computer Engineering students by enhancing their professional skills and ensuring that the acquired skills and knowledge better match the demands of the current IT job market.
FORTE is one of the activity branches of the ProfESIonalízate program, which is also organized by the UCLM´s Advanced School of Computer Engineering. ProfESIionalízate provides a suitable framework for the coordination and management of specific actions and activities that are aimed at enabling students to provide a truly added value to their future job applications. DocPath is one the twelve national and multinational organizations with offices in the Spanish region of Castilla La Mancha that are participating in what is currently the third FORTE call.
In line with the agreement, DocPath is offering different six-month internship positions. During this period, students will be given the opportunity to participate in a document software development project of common interest, within the area of Document Output Management. Students may also choose to complete their final thesis during their internship at DocPath, within the requirements of the corresponding the document software project.
On the other hand, DocPath is a multinational organization, with offices in the USA, Brazil and Spain and developing multi-language document software. In fact, English is the main language of all DocPath-designed interfaces. This means that DocPath´s internship program not only allows students to acquire on-the-job experience in software development and effectively increase their job opportunities, but the program also gives them the opportunity to practice and improve their communicative skills in other languages, such as English.
In the words of Julio Olivares, DocPath CEO and Founder: “Effective collaboration with the UCLM was one of the main objectives of moving our Software Development Centers in Spain to the area of Castilla La Mancha. Now that we have met this objective, we can firmly state that we are proud of the results, both with regards to the enhancements made to our products, as of the fact that we are able to offer graduate students job opportunities in their city of origin and, at the same time, are given the opportunity to bring in highly qualified and trained professionals.”
The University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) was founded in 1982 and, since then, its main objective has always been to act as a reference and a trigger for economic, social, cultural and technological development in the Spanish area of Castilla-La Mancha.
