Franklin County Visitors Bureau Spotlights Helping Little Hands Rock and Ride Benefit
(PRWEB) August 30, 2018 -- With Labor Day Weekend 2018 on hand, Franklin County Visitors Bureau recommends checking out Helping Little Hands Rock and Ride Benefit, set for August 31 and September 1. It is an annual fundraiser for Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital, organized by Back Road Riders, a group of cyclists with incredible heart. The two-day event, held at the Greencastle American Legion Picnic Grounds on Williamson Road in Greencastle, brings together bikers and music enthusiasts to support this worthwhile cause.
The centerpiece of the event is a motorcycle ride, where all makes and models of motorcycles and cars are welcome to join. Riders meet at M&S Harley Davidson on Falling Spring Road in Chambersburg and can register from 9:00-10:45 AM. Kick stands go up at 11 AM sharp.
Riders are welcome to come the evening of Friday, August 31, to the Greencastle American Legion Grounds to camp. Gates open at 4 PM and music begins at 7:30 PM. Slated for Friday are rock and metal bands Shadow Rising, Time Bomb, and Gun Metal Gray. Food, fun, vendors and auctions make it a great evening. Tickets are $5 for ages 15 and under and $15 for 16 and older. Tickets, purchased on Friday, also give entry on Saturday, September 1. After the Saturday morning ride, bands start at noon at the American Legion Picnic Grounds in Greencastle. The line-up includes acoustic bands Smileyfoot and Dave Front Chasing The Day. Also appearing are Nothingmen, Colt Wilbur, Rabid Assain, Monkey Foo—Tribute to Foo Fighter, Ghose of War, and Adrian Blitzer. Helping Little Hands Rock and Ride Benefit is rain or shine, and everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and pop-ups.
Helping Little Hands Rock and Ride Benefit was started by Barry Sheeder after his daughter had a resistant staph infection in 2011. Out of his appreciation to the Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital and his affection for children in need, Sheeder has raised more than $30,000 from the event.
