E-recording in Franklin County, Mass., Now Available Through Simplifile
Franklin County, MA (PRWEB) June 09, 2014 -- Franklin County, Mass. has opened its doors to electronic recording (e-recording) with Simplifile, the nation’s largest e-recording service provider, giving customers such as title companies, banks, and attorneys the ability to submit documents to the county online for recording.
With the addition of Franklin County, there are now 16 Massachusetts recording jurisdictions using Simplifile’s service, which means just over 75 percent of the state’s recording offices have implemented e-recording.
“We’re excited to expand our e-recording service in Massachusetts and provide the customers in Franklin County with a fast, easy-to-use, digital recording technology,” said Paul Clifford, president of Simplifile. “It’s so much more convenient to give customers the option to record their documents electronically, and the cost-savings on paper and mailing expenses alone are huge.”
Instead of having to mail documents or drive to the county office, e-recording gives customers the ability to submit their documents via the Internet.
After the customer submits a document online through Simplifile, the county receives, reviews, stamps, records, and returns it back to the customer in minutes.
Customers range from title companies and attorneys to banks, lien filers, and others who submit documents such as land records to the county for recording.
Payments and recording fees can also be processed electronically through Automated Clearing House (ACH), eliminating check-writing expenses, paper-handling and expediting the overall recording process.
High-speed Internet access, a computer, and a scanner are the minimum requirements for customers to be able to start e-recording.
