Frederick Arts Council Announces Public Art Master Plan for Frederick
Plan to be announced Thursday, April 4, 11:30 am, at Sky Stage
FREDERICK, Md., April 1, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Frederick Arts Council will announce the Frederick Public Art Master Plan on Thursday, April 4, 11:30 am, at Sky Stage, 59 South Carroll Street, Frederick. The plan has been completed after a nearly two-year process of development and consultation with numerous community stakeholders.
The Frederick Arts Council encourages and promotes the enrichment of the cultural landscape of Frederick through a variety of programs including the aesthetic improvements of public spaces, uniting artists and community, and inspiring civic pride.
The Master Plan will allow Frederick to continue deepening its sense of place through public art, develop a coherent set of procedures for placing public art throughout the county, and help create a set of sustainable funding streams for the construction and maintenance of the county's public art. The vision of the plan is stated as developing "a Frederick where public art connects residents and visitors, expresses an authentic and unique sense of place, drives economic prosperity through creativity, and advances a culturally inclusive and empowered future."
The Public Art Master Plan for Frederick County was undertaken with the support of the Ausherman Family Foundation.
