The president of Mexico Felipe Calderón declared war on the drug cartels in 2006. In the era this story is set, there were daily grim reports of murders, disappearances, kidnappings, robberies, extortions, and numerous other crimes. The drug wars continued and threatened at times to reduce Mexico to anarchy. In Culiacan, one family name is known to struggle and stand up against the evil doers. Personally, they have a score to settle and Dr. Eduardo de la Vega will make sure that it is done. Author Frederick L Malphurs pens an action-packed novel that will keep readers at the edge of their seats with his new publication, A Year in the Life of Doctor Fox.
The Pacific cartel’s vast army of gunmen, allied criminals, and collaborators makes Culiacan a city where murder and other crimes can and do arbitrarily and frequently occur. The de la Vegas are highly regarded family in Culiacan. The sister was kidnapped, tortured and murdered by the criminal associates of the drug cartel. Her husband was arrested, and her children were terrified. Dr. Eduardo de la Vega vows to avenge his sister’s death. It is a vow he took seriously as he bravely engaged in a battle against the drug cartels. It is a showdown of wits and tactics, and he will do everything to win.
This book introduces a genuine super hero without utterly fantastic abilities rising to meet the dangerous challenges of resisting the most powerful Mexican drug cartel. Unlike Batman, Superman et al, the hero in A Year in the Life of Dr. Fox does his work through superior intelligence, careful research, and incredible stealth. It fictionalizes the depth and warmth of a family who has experienced the deepest sorrows, but strives for the greater good for the community and its citizens.
Fast-paced and richly engrossing, this will surely take readers into a non-stop action-packed adventure as the hero stages his ultimate battle against sworn enemies.
