With new technologies such as Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), Light Emitting Diode (LED) and plasma screens, the demand for new CRTs has dropped dramatically, resulting in accumulation of used CRTs for example; a report by Transparent Planet estimates that about 660 million pounds are being accumulated nationally. CRT recycling has no value and it usually cost money due to the hazardous waste, this may lead to mismanagement of CRTs if mismanaged through inappropriate storage, recycling or disposal, can cause significant environmental harm.
The main cause of this event that is hosted by; Miller Recycling Corporation is to help manage the inappropriate disposal of this material.
