Annual deductibles, coinsurance, copayments and unexpected limitations can be quite taxing on Medicare beneficiaries wallets. If not careful, a health crisis could turn into a financial crisis. That is why Senior Services of Illinois, Inc. (SSI), and Consumers Direct Insurance Services, Inc. (CDIS), Independent, Authorized Senior General Agents for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas has launched FreeMedicareKit.org*, a free Medicare assessment site tool assisting Medicare beneficiaries.

Although it offers comprehensive coverage, Medicare was not designed with the intent of covering all medical expenses. The microsite was developed to inform and assist individuals entering Medicare as well as those already receiving Medicare benefits. With a click of the button, FreeMedicareKit.org provides an easy to navigate website with understandable and shareable content along with a short informative video on how Medicare works.

FreeMedicareKit.org is an impactful and informative site for anyone interested in how the Medicare maze works,” said Scott Loochtan, President of SSI and CDIS, Inc. “The microsite was designed to provide consumer protection and education as well as insight into what Medicare does and does not cover.”

FreeMedicareKit.org provides important downloadable Medicare guides in one easily accessible place – so no more searching multiple websites for key information. By offering this material on one microsite, it also gives the individual the opportunity to make an immediate informed decision or the option of working with an education specialist that can provide a complimentary Medicare needs assessment.

“Being informed and protected is crucial, because navigating Medicare without the assistance of a licensed and certified education specialist can be the difference of a health crisis turning into a financial crisis,” noted Loochtan. “Our specialists provide the answers and direction that many Medicare beneficiaries seek.”

The SSI and CDIS organizations are staffed with experienced, fully licensed and trained education specialists and administration that bridge the gap between insurance and education. The agency provides cost-effective Medicare insurance solutions for individuals facing a qualifying life event. Annual certification and continuing education in Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plans (PDP) and Medicare Advantage Plans allows them to provide full service Medicare solutions and make themselves available in a variety of ways through technology, over the phone or in person appointments.

“We provide peace of mind because we know that insurance, regulations and legislation can be difficult to comprehend for many people and our education specialists possess the information, expertise and certification the average person does not,” stated Loochtan. “We advise enrollees to utilize our complimentary services to help decipher all the material because that is what sets us apart as we put the interests of our existing and future clients first.”
