“We have always tried to remove barriers that would keep people from clearly seeing Jesus.” - Rick Baldwin
Friendswood, Texas (PRWEB) September 20, 2016
Friendswood Community Church (FCC) announced they are changing their name to The Harbor on the weekend of November 6, 2016, to broaden their reach in the Bay Area.
Rick Baldwin, Senior Pastor of FCC commented: “We have always tried to remove barriers (music, dress, “church” language) that would keep people from clearly seeing Jesus and weighing His claim on their life. Increasingly the name of our church is a barrier to those outside of Friendswood. Removing this barrier is the driving force for changing our name to The Harbor.”
Baldwin explained, “Our current name tells where we are. The Harbor tells who we are. Just as a harbor is a place where ships are restored, refueled, and returned to sea, The Harbor is a place where people are restored, refueled, and returned to live their daily lives with Jesus at the center.”
FCC will begin a new series to share the deeper meaning behind The Harbor on November 6th.
