Front Desk Supply First Annual Beach Cleanup
Front Desk Supply held their first annual beach cleanup last month on Mission Bay in San Diego, CA on September 20, 2018. The cleanup team was joined by volunteer staff from The Dana Hotel and the Paradise Beach Resort.
SAN DIEGO, Oct. 10, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Front Desk Supply held their first annual beach cleanup last month on Mission Bay in San Diego, CA on September 20, 2018. The cleanup team was joined by volunteer staff from The Dana Hotel and the Paradise Beach Resort. Several miles of public beach adjoining the two resorts were scoured for waste items by upwards of 20 people over the four-hour time period. Items ranging from broken glass, cigarette butts, beer caps and abandoned barbecue grills were gathered and disposed of properly by the group. An estimated 100+ pounds of waste was collected, and removed from the beautiful Mission Bay habitat.
"This is something I've wanted us to do for some time," said Mark Zisek, Front Desk Supply's Director of Commercial Operations. "We live and work in such a beautiful part of the country and as a staunch supporter of Surfrider cleanup initiatives, I wanted to do it with our team and with some of our local customers. I thought it would be a positive thing to do for the environment and a good team building opportunity, as well," Zisek added.
Headquartered in San Diego, Front Desk team members from all over the Western United States met up for this cause. Employees came from Northern California, Orange county and Temecula and a strategic partner even flew in from China to meet the group and lend a hand in the cleanup effort. The event also provided an opportunity for new team members to meet and for some fun team building conversation over lunch after the cleanup.
"Even though we were technically closed for the day," said Dave Motley of Front Desk Supply. "We actually got a lot of work covered. Sometimes its nice to have a face-to-face conversation with a co-worker rather than exchanging a string of emails."
