“Calorie free” Shoe Drive Fundraising Company Announces Growth Plans
Orlando, Florida (PRWEB) May 13, 2014 -- Funds2Orgs has rapidly become a hit in the fundraising world; offering real, relevant, and engaging strategies for schools, churches, civic groups, and other nonprofit organizations to fundraise utilizing gently worn, used and new shoes as currency to raise money.
“Our team works with a school band for example, on doing a shoe drive where we supply them the bags, rubber bands, marketing materials, and a personal fundraising coach to work with them from start to finish,” said Wayne Elsey, founder and CEO of Funds2Orgs. “After the event, our logistics fleet will pick up the shoes collected and issue them a check for their efforts.”
Organizations are getting the “calorie free” concept of Funds2Orgs fundraising model. “No more cookies, candy, popcorn, or other high caloric count items as a fundraiser,” added Elsey. “This is simply collecting gently worn used and new shoes, putting them in the Funds2Orgs bags and us picking them up!”
After collection and pickup, the shoes are used in developing nations to create “micro-jobs” via micro-enterprises. “People are making money trading Americans excess and using it as a currency. My heart is warm to hear the stories of folks making a living, providing opportunities for others vs the alternative in Haiti, Tanzania and the other countries we work with,” said Elsey. “One lady I met is making $60 per day from $1-2 before selling used shoes.”
Our commitment to microenterprises is very deep around the world and right here in America from an educational standpoint. “We have introduced the Funds2Orgs Micro-Enterprise Curriculum that is available for free immediate download. Several schools have adopted it and the feedback on the quality, form and substance is relevant,” Elsey responded. “Thousands have downloaded it already.”
