Blue Ridge Included in Gartner Forecasting and Replenishment Guide for Retailers, 2013
Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) September 05, 2013 -- Blue Ridge announced today that it has been included in Gartner’s recent research guide, “The Gartner Retail Forecasting and Replenishment Vendor Guide, 2013,” published in August this year. In the annual report, Mike Griswold analyzes key demand-driven, forecasting and inventory http://www..brinv.com/l/8182/2013-06-05/3js3q5 [replenishment __title__ ] functionality that could enhance retail profitability.
In order to be included in the guide, solution providers had to meet certain criteria, including five key forecasting capabilities and four replenishment capabilities. A few of these included “promotional [forecasting] at item, day and channel level, integrated cross-channel forecasting (one forecast that includes demand signal for all sales channels), and multiechelon inventory planning.” These capabilities were designed to provide retailers with a starting point in selecting an appropriate provider for forecasting and replenishment initiatives.
According to Gartner, demand-management initiatives can provide great benefits to an organization when executed properly. * “Respondents to Gartner's 2013 demand-driven retail survey indicated the following benefits from their demand-planning initiatives: 57 percent cited up to a 10 percent improvement in on-shelf availability and inventory productivity, 64 percent cited up to a 10 percent reduction in obsolete inventory, and 62 percent cited up to a 10 percent improvement in gross margin.”
Blue Ridge is honored to be included in this year’s forecasting and replenishment guide for retailers. “Gartner is one of the premier authorities on initiatives that improve the supply chain,” stated Greg White, CEO at Blue Ridge, “The vendor guide is a valuable resource for retailers and we’re honored to represent the capabilities that have brought value to our many retail and distribution clients. We’re happy, but never satisfied, and will continue to advance our cloud solutions to ensure the retail supply chain brings profit gains to retailers, distributors and their partners.”
*Gartner demand-driven retailing survey, which surveyed 182 global retailers to understand demand-driven maturity levels. Survey was conducted from October 2012 to January 2013.
