The Business Architecture Guild Announces the Guild Accredited Training Partner ™ (GATP™) Program
Soquel, CA (PRWEB) June 08, 2016 -- As the field of business architecture grows and matures, the need for training courses in the field becomes more necessary. The Business Architecture Guild is committed to developing programs and initiatives that accelerate the growth of business architecture. Since fall of 2011, the Business Architecture Guild has created an evolving body of knowledge, which is updated twice per year. A Guide to the Business Architecture Body of Knowledge® (BIZBOK® Guide) is collaboratively written by teams of Guild members and vetted by practitioners in the field of business architecture.
Since fall of 2015, the Business Architecture Guild has offered certification, and we are pleased to have over 100 practitioners holding the CBA® designation. Now that the Certified Business Architect® program is in place, organizations and business architecture practitioners are increasingly seeking to identify which training providers align to A Guide to the Business Architecture Body of Knowledge® (BIZBOK® Guide). The Guild has responded to this need with the introduction of the Guild Accredited Training Partner™ (GATP™). With the addition of the training partner program, the Guild now offers a complete Foundation for supporting the field of business architecture, all in one place
Who is it for?
GATP™ is open to Guild members and the public. Both groups are able to use a custom directory to find accredited trainer partner organizations, using search criteria such as online or public training, location, languages spoken, delivery format and more. A simple click leads a searcher to a more complete profile of the selected training organization, links to its website, and more, making it easy to compare offerings and find the best suited training provider.
Our initial partners are a diverse group of 5 organizations, which include established training programs adding business architecture to their curricula, respected business architecture thought leaders offering training, and a state university offering a certificate program. Of this inaugural group, 3 providers are located in the US, one provider is in Canada, and one provider is in Europe. All offer both public and private training and some offer or plan to offer online training.
What are the benefits?
The Guild is excited to be partnering with these providers for the benefit of the business architecture community. The GATP™ program benefits the business architecture community by providing:
Organizations and business architecture practitioners an easy way to identify training that is aligned with business architecture industry direction, thereby saving confusion and time spent validating options. This includes, but is not limited to, business architecture practitioners preparing for the Certified Business Architect® exam
Organizations and business architecture practitioners a way to chart a course for professional development by reviewing all training topic areas and then selecting applicable courses to incorporate into development plans
Organizations a way to more easily evaluate the foundational knowledge a candidate has when applying for a business architecture position
Training providers a way to promote course offerings, which are aligned with a standard body of knowledge
The business architecture industry a way to ensure that the knowledge and skills being developed by the business architecture community are aligned with industry standards, leading to consistent practices. This will enable the discipline to further mature and focus on more complex aspects of business architecture
Chris Armstrong, speaking on behalf of his company, echoes the excitement of the Business Architecture Guild stating that:
“APG is very excited be one of the inaugural training organizations to participate in the Guild Accredited Training Program™.” said Chris Armstrong, President of APG. “This is an important moment in the evolution of the Business Architect profession based on the continued development of the BIZBOK® Guide and Certified Business Architect (CBA)® program from the Business Architecture Guild®. With the addition of accredited training, organizations and individuals now have a complete foundation for supporting and uplifting their Business Architecture capabilities and APG is very proud to be able to be a part of delivering those solutions”
How are training providers selected?
Interested training providers are asked to submit an application and supplemental materials to the Business Architecture Guild® for GATP™ program evaluation. An independent team of volunteer member practitioners reviews the application and materials against a collaboratively agreed-upon set of criteria to determine if the training provider and its courses meet the defined acceptance criteria. If the criteria is met, the training provider organization may become a Guild Accredited Training Partner™.
The Guild is extremely grateful to our volunteer members of the evaluation team and the Academic and Education Committee for their work. The members of the Business Architecture Guild® are looking forward to the growth of the GATP™ and addition of new courses, providers and locations. We are pleased to offer this resource to the greater business architecture community.
