Axios will offer its market-leading service management solution, assyst, as Software as a Service (SaaS) through the Digital Marketplace (lot 3).
The G-Cloud initiative allows public-sector organisations to procure cloud services from suppliers listed in the framework's Digital Marketplace, expediting what is traditionally a lengthy tender process for government organisations.
First launched in June of 2012, public sector spending through the framework has now surpassed £806m (i). Sales in 2015 have risen by more than 80%, up from £447m at the end of 2014. The strong growth is underpinned by the G-Cloud initiative which mandates central governments to prioritise cloud computing. Cloud computing fuels organisational savings and efficiencies.
The UK’s digital strategy depends largely on cloud technologies. By 2017, SaaS is set to generate almost 60% of cloud revenue (ii). This trend is replicated in the service management market, with IDC Research sponsored by Axios highlighting that 50% of organisations currently using on-premise ITSM software plan to use SaaS by 2016 (iii).
