Gekks Ultra-Thin Shoe Liners Hit Kickstarter Today, Alleviate Sweaty Discomfort Associated with Sockless Shoes
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) March 11, 2014 -- Gekks, the all-new low cut shoe liners that deliver comfort, convenience and odor control when going sockless, are finally available for pre-order on Kickstarter today, March 11. Gekks make boat shoes, loafers and other sockless shoes more comfortable and convenient with their semi-permanent liners that utilize X-Static® technology to make sure feet stay dry and odor-free.
Low-cut socks often still show in different variations of shoes, while Gekks do not present that risk because they fit down inside shoes. Using medicated powder adds extra hassle counterintuitive to the whole idea behind wearing quick and easy slip-on shoes. Forget these and all of the other inconveniences that come with the sockless look – Gekks make wearing shoes without socks more comfortable than ever before.
“We like to think of ourselves as fashionable guys, and we love the classic look of all kinds of loafers,” said Christian Arquilla, one of Gekks creators. “But going barefoot in loafers and boat shoes shouldn’t have to be uncomfortable. We were sick of slipping barefoot in a pair of shoes only to be miserable later with nasty, sweaty feet. We knew there had to be a better way to wear our favorite shoes, and it turned out there was – it was Gekks.”
Gekks are ultra-thin shoe inserts made from powerful antimicrobial silver yarns made by X-Static®, a leader in anti-microbial and anti-odor protection used by NASA and the US Special Forces to keep gear fresh and bacteria free. They lock into shoes so that feet can comfortably and easily slide in and out without affecting the positioning of the liner.
A thin layer of adhesive gel less than 0.5 mm thick is used to place Gekks inside shoes and lock them into place. The gel is extremely thin, so it does not affect the way shoes fit. Although the adhesive firmly attaches liners with a pressure sensitive tack, Gekks can still be easily removed and machine washed or transferred to other shoes without leaving any sticky residue behind.
These liners are available in a variety of sizes for both men and women. They come in small, medium and large sizes that each correspond with a range of regular shoe sizes. Four initial colors are offered in the first production run including Black, Wyoming Brown, Navy and Holly.
Gekks are available for pre-order starting today for just $25 per pair, $50 for two pairs, $75 for three pairs, $115 for five pairs, and $175 for a subscription in which two pairs are shipped every six months. With these pre-orders, Gekks is hoping to reach their funding goal of $75,000 needed to manufacture the first round of products.
