General Hearing Instruments, Inc., Receives POPAI Award
New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) July 16, 2013 -- The General Hearing Aid Powerwing display, designed by General Hearing Instruments, Inc., for placement in retail supercenters in Texas has received an award from Point of Purchase Advertising International (POPAI). The award was received as part of the POPAI’s 55th annual Outstanding Marketing at Retail Achievement (OMA) Awards Competition during GlobalShop 2013.
“We are proud to receive this award,” says Roger Juneau, president of General Hearing Instruments, Inc. “It is our mission to deliver cutting-edge treatment technology, but the strength of our brand comes from our merchandising department. We will all celebrate this award and continue to make exceptional hearing aids available to the general public through our partnering retailers.”
POPAI is the Global Association for Marketing for retail businesses and enterprises. This year, there were over 500 entrants from over 100 companies to be reviewed in order to qualify for the awards given. All of the entries in the 26 categories of the competition were reviewed and judged for their designs, level of innovation, interactivity, and the ability to augment sale of the product or service. General Hearing Instruments, Inc., secured a Silver Award in the Healthcare category for their in-store display for hearing aid styles. Other winning companies included Bath and Body Works, Fisher-Price Inc., InnerWorkings, Inc., Columbia Sportswear, and Absolut® VODKA.
There are several qualifying phases in order to be eligible for the award. The first phase is an online judging process. The different displays can be viewed and evaluated online. The second phase of the judging process is completed during GlobalShop, a visual merchandising and marketing expo. Teams are created to evaluate the displays and validate the online reviews. General Hearing Instruments, Inc., met the requirements to apply for the award and participated in the online competition.
"This award justifies the energy we have spent making sure that our products are visible and easily accessible to the people who need them most," said Juneau.
