The BridgeWave systems offer lower CAPEX costs, faster ROI, and very affordable OPEX costs, while delivering the backhaul network performance and reliability we require.

BridgeWave Communications, a market leader and pioneer in wireless backhaul systems, today announced that Genesee County, New York, has deployed BridgeWave microwave and millimeter wave systems to provide reliable high-speed data, HD video, and voice connectivity for its government and public safety agencies, with faster ROI than fiber and more affordable CAPEX and OPEX costs. The County first used unlicensed multipoint equipment for its backhaul network, but as bandwidth needs increased and the reliability of the unlicensed solution waned, the County selected BridgeWave licensed systems for their higher reliability, throughput, and QoS capabilities. Gradually, working with BridgeWave Platinum partner Integrated Systems, the County replaced all unlicensed multipoint links with a variety of licensed frequency BridgeWave systems in the 18, 23, and 80GHz spectrums.
Most recently, Integrated Systems deployed BridgeWave’s flagship 80GHz system for the County. The Flex4G-10000 delivers true fiber performance, 256-bit AES encryption for highest data security, and the highest system gain to ensure maximum throughput at the longest distances. In the near future, Integrated Systems will deploy BridgeWave’s Navigator licensed microwave systems for the County. Navigator, which is built on the company’s proprietary custom ASICs, provides network operators with unprecedented flexibility to support multiple configurations and applications, and will further optimize the County’s network for high capacity, and dramatically decrease its capital and operating costs.
“My philosophy since my early days with the County has been wireless over fiber for a faster return on our investment and lower overall costs and, because of the results we have achieved, the County has now standardized on wireless,” said Stephen Zimmer, IT Director, Genesee County. “The BridgeWave systems offer lower CAPEX costs, faster ROI, and very affordable OPEX costs, while delivering the backhaul network performance and reliability we require. We have experienced a long history of positive, dependable connectivity with the BridgeWave product line, and we know that BridgeWave stands behind its guarantee of product performance when the links are engineered and installed properly.”
“It is always an honor when a customer chooses to deploy our systems, but we are especially honored to have been chosen by Genesee County for their backhaul network over fiber and other wireless alternatives,” said Pamela Valentine, vice president of marketing, BridgeWave Communications. “Our relationship has continued to grow over the last ten years, as the County’s requirements have increased substantially for higher network capacity, performance, and cost-effectiveness. The fact that the County is deploying our newest systems gives strong testament to our technology, experience, and customer support.”
BridgeWave systems provide a fast, easy, and inexpensive way to extend backhaul networks without the cost, time, and complexity of new or leased fiber. In addition to our 80GHz flagship system, the Flex4G-10000, BridgeWave offers the Flex4G-LITE and entry-level Flex4G-1000, delivering capacities up to 3Gbps full duplex and 1Gbps full duplex, respectively. BridgeWave also offers Navigator microwave systems supporting the 6-42GHz frequency bands, and which are built on the company’s proprietary, custom RF and modem ASICs. Navigator systems deliver features previously unavailable in any microwave radio and dramatically change the economics of microwave point-to-point links.
BridgeWave Communications provides high-capacity microwave and millimeter wave backhaul and wireless connectivity solutions to operators, carriers, service providers, governments, and private enterprises. The company’s innovative solutions have been entrusted by customers to enable highly reliable and secure, high-capacity, gigabit connectivity while reducing operating costs relative to fiber.
