Geothermal Energy Event Opens This Week in Reno
RENO, Nev. (PRWEB) October 08, 2018 -- The city of Reno will welcome an international audience to the "biggest little city in the world" at the Opening Session of the meeting on Monday, October 15. The session will feature special guests and energy experts covering many aspects on geothermal and other renewable energy development.
Assemblyman Chris Brooks and Angela Dykema, Director, Governor’s Office of Energy, Nevada will represent The Silver State while Idaho Governor C.L. “Butch” Otter will talk about geothermal energy in The Gem State. Dr. Susan Hamm, Director, U.S. Department of Energy, Geothermal Technology Office will provide an overview of federal support for the industry. Finally, a panel of experts will discuss geothermal’s essential role in today’s energy market.
The Opening Session will attract leading researchers, academics, students, state and federal agency officials, and executives from over 200 companies, such as Berkshire Hathaway Energy, CYRQ Energy, Calpine, Coso Energy, ENEL Green Power, Ormat Technologies, Inc., and others that develop, build, maintain and operate geothermal plants around America and the world.
The GRC Annual Meeting & Expo is the industry’s largest annual gathering of leading geothermal energy scientists, producers, renewable energy industry stakeholders, regulators, utilities, and key associated business leaders. The four-day event will offer technical, policy, and market conference sessions, educational seminars, tours of local geothermal and renewable energy projects, a trade show and numerous networking opportunities.
