Gerald R. (Jerry) Deal has been a news reporter and editor for some 40 years, He has written scores of articles for newspapers that he worked for and later edited copy for reporters who worked for him. He also has written articles for magazines, but this is his first venture in writing a fictional children's book. He says he really enjoys writing and is also working a story on his life, which he says at times was quite interesting.. He presently lives in Harlingen in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Widowed, he is the father of six children and many grandchildren.
