Giraffas Brazilian Grill Announces New Round of Licensee Agreements as Part of Restaurant Expansion Initiative Throughout U.S.

Giraffas is expanding its U.S. presence signing licensees in South Florida, and group licensees outside of the area.

Giraffas has announced a slate of new licensees following their first-ever Giraffas Discovery Day in the U.S. Giraffas has targeted the U.S. for expansion of its highly successful brand. Giraffas currently has signed four U.S. licensees, a non-traditional food court concept and group expansion in Miami and the west coast of Florida. The fast casual restaurant company was founded in Brazil more than thirty years ago. Giraffas currently operates nearly 425 restaurants in Brazil, and 10 in the U.S.

Giraffas is currently signing licensees in South Florida, and group licensees outside of the area. Their immediate goal is to open five new locations in 2016 and to have 150 locations by 2020. Giraffas plans to expand throughout Florida and eventually establish locations on the East and West coasts. Potential licensees participate in a formal interview and are vetted.

“From the second I learned about Giraffas, it was a no brainer,” said Kirk Taboada, a new licensee. “Their core model is something I believe heavily in and knew it would be a good fit for me and my family. The chance to give the community a fresh product at a low cost is something that I think every restaurant should strive for.”

Giraffas made the decision to enter the U.S. market and launched operations in Florida in 2011 as part of the burgeoning fast casual restaurant concept. Third party research also confirmed a keen interest in the Brazilian food and dining experience by U.S. consumers.
