"Every girl deserves the opportunity to grow up with role models who support, inspire, and show her anything is possible," says Judy Vredenburgh, Girls Inc. President and CEO. "Our 2018 honorees are trailblazers in their own right, opening doors for the next generation of women leaders. We are thrilled to honor their accomplishments and commitment to women and girls."
For more than 20 years, the Girls Inc. Los Angeles Celebration Luncheon has recognized the achievements of top leaders in the business, media, and entertainment fields. Honorees are paired with Girls Inc. National Scholars who will share personal stories of overcoming challenges and how honorees have motivated them to achieve their academic, personal, and career goals. The event raises funds to support Girls Inc. in delivering life-changing programming and experiences to girls across the United States and Canada.
Recently, Girls Inc. announced the launch of #GirlsToo: Respect Starts Young, a national campaign to raise awareness about the pervasiveness of sexual harassment and violence in the lives of youth, particularly girls, with actions aimed at addressing the norms and stereotypes that fuel these behaviors, so all young people can grow up safe, respected, and valued.
"Girls have the right to have confidence in themselves and be safe in the world. For girls to succeed in school, prepare for careers, and gain economic independence, we must first change the way girls and women are viewed and valued. We are excited to champion this change, along with our partners and supporters, to build a culture that respects the dignity of all young people," continued Vredenburgh.

About Girls Inc.
Girls Inc. inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold through direct service and advocacy. Our comprehensive approach to whole girl development equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow up healthy, educated, and independent. These positive outcomes are achieved through three core elements: people - trained staff and volunteers who build lasting, mentoring relationships; environment - girls-only, physically and emotionally safe, where there is a sisterhood of support, high expectations, and mutual respect; and programming - research-based, hands-on and minds-on, age-appropriate, meeting the needs of today's girls. Informed by girls and their families, we also advocate for legislation and policies to increase opportunities for all girls. Join us at girlsinc.org.
