Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast to Host Regional Girls Night Out Events Throughout October
Ventura, CA (PRWEB) September 22, 2016 -- As families are starting a new school year, Girl Scouts of California’s Central Coast (GSCCC) is inviting girls in kindergarten through 6th grade to join the fun and learn about Girl Scouts at free Girls Night Out events up and down California’s Central Coast throughout the month of October. The events will bring parents and girls together to learn about the many programs and volunteer positions available at Girl Scouts.
There are 23 Girl Scout Girls Night Out events throughout the six counties served by GSCCC throughout the month of October. These counties include, Santa Cruz, San Benito, Monterey, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura County, with locations listed at http://www.girlscoutsccc.org/gno or at http://www.girlscoutsccc.org/descubre. All events are complimentary, featuring an array of activities, songs, stories, games, crafts and snacks.
Girls and their families will learn about various Girl Scout programs and experiences, from camping and outdoor activities, to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) based learning, as well as badge-earning, trips and participating in the Girl Scout Cookie Program. Girl Scouts is an exciting way to engage girls all year round while providing countless opportunities for making friends, trying new things and exercising leadership skills through fun activities.
“We can’t wait to share the fun with girls and their families during Girls Night Out events in October!” said Gina Jaeger, Girl Scouts of California's Central Coast CEO. “Girls will have fun playing games and making crafts at this family-oriented night out, while parents will learn about the Girl Scout program and the benefits of volunteering.”
While Girl Scouts is open to all girls from kindergarten through grade 12, anyone over the age of 18 can become a Girl Scout volunteer. Girls cannot experience the positive impact of Girl Scouts without adult volunteers, and each adult who volunteers has the opportunity to make a real difference in the life of a girl. Both girls and adult volunteers can join at any time of the year.
