Huntingdon Valley, PA (PRWEB) March 06, 2014 -- Back in 1974 when the average house cost $10,990, a gallon of gas was only .55 cents and Jimmy Fallon was just born, Lou Giroud, founder of Giroud Tree and Lawn, was 18 years old and starting up a lawn service company in Huntingdon Valley PA. Now celebrating its 40th Anniversary, Giroud Tree and Lawn has earned awards from consumer groups like Angie’s List for providing outstanding tree service and lawn care services to homeowners and businesses in Montgomery County, Bucks County and Philadelphia PA.
Originally known as "Lou’s Lawn Care", the Company was officially launched in March 1974. “Operating out my parents' garage, Giroud Tree and Lawn started small, serving customers in the local neighborhood,” says Lou Giroud, Founder, President and ISA Certified Arborist. “From the beginning, the Company’s mission has been to make customers love doing business with Giroud. It’s a simple idea that guides how we handle everything from a customer’s first call until after the job is done.”
Fast forward to 2014 and travel up the road just a few miles from its original garage. Giroud Tree and Lawn has grown from a single employee serving customers from a 1956 Dodge pick-up to 38 employees, 22 trucks and a variety of specialty equipment, all housed at its headquarters in Huntingdon Valley PA.
Giroud is also very much a family business. While Lou Giroud’s sons, Jeff and Matt, are in training to learn the business from the ground up, the Founder’s wife, Cindy Giroud, is the company’s Director of Marketing. Additionally, Vice President, brother in law and ISA Certified Arborist, Drew Slousky , a core part of the company since 1977 is joined by his wife and Lou Giroud's sister, Shelly Slousky, in office administration and his son, Scott Slousky, the company’s In-house Arborist.
