Harlem Globetrotter Great- Kevin “Special K” Daley Announces Retirement After 10 Years as Team Captain
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 06, 2014 -- Today, Showman Kevin “Special K” Daley announced his retirement from the world famous Harlem Globetrotters basketball team. For the past 10 years, Special K has been the consummate professional for the organization and will be known as one of the best showmen in the 88-year history of the team. Daley released this statement on Tuesday evening, “When I first put on the red, white and blue Harlem Globetrotters uniform 10 years ago, I vowed to give the fans and teammates everything I could possibly give them to the best of my ability. I took my position as a Globetrotter showman very seriously, perfecting my craft and respecting all those who came before me that entertained millions around the world for this great organization. Through the Globetrotters, I had the opportunity of speaking with many people from various walks of life, learning from their stories and sharing my own. Through those opportunities, in which I am very grateful for, I discovered a passion for sharing my story of adversity if it meant I had the chance to impact just one other person’s life and motivate them to keep pushing through. After roughly 150 games per year and nearly 100 countries I’ve visited in the last decade, it’s time for me to retire and take my experiences with me into the next chapter of my life. I will always cherish the Globetrotter fans in all of the great cities and countries I visited and be thankful for the memories and people I met along the way.”
