Chris Humphrey Insurance Agency Launches New Charity Campaign to Help Provide for Local Family After Devastating ALS Diagnosis
Goldsboro, NC (PRWEB) March 14, 2016 -- Chris Humphrey Insurance Agency, serving families from offices in Goldsboro and Kinston, NC, has announced the latest beneficiary of their ongoing community enrichment program. The current campaign fundraises for Eric Jarman, a local man husband and father who is struggling with ALS. Donations to the Jarman family may now be made here: https://www.gofundme.com/wwr5yhdw.
Eric Jarman’s first symptom was six years ago, when he began having issues walking. As his condition continued to deteriorate, doctors finally diagnosed Eric with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis). ALS is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. As the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action affected, people frequently lose the ability to speak, eat, move and breathe. Previously, Eric owned his own business and was a very active husband and father of two beautiful daughters. Today, Eric is wheelchair-bound, has a feeding tube and requires round the clock care. His voice is very weak, and a machine helps him breathe. Ever escalating medical expenses have devastated the family, and home health aides are necessary if Eric’s wife, Holly, is to go back to work.
“I can’t even imagine what Eric and Holly have been through over the last several years,” said Chris Humphrey, owner of Chris Humphrey Insurance Agency. “These good people need help with expenses immediately, and we’re happy to help in whatever way possible. This is a perfect example of why we created our Community Program – to help people going through their toughest times and show them that they’re not alone.”
Promoting the initiative through social media and an email awareness campaign, the agency has also featured the Jarman family their monthly magazine. Our Hometown is delivered to thousands of households in Goldsboro, Kinston, and surrounding communities, and has reserved a full page to spotlight this worthy cause. The electronic Flipbook version of the magazine’s current issue may be accessed at: http://www.chrishumphreyinsurance.com/Our-Hometown-Magazine_44.
Chris Humphrey Insurance has pledged to donate $10 to Eric and Holly for each and every recommendation they receive for an insurance quote, with no purchase necessary, making it simple for everyone to pitch in and help.
