Hope For The Warriors Honors Local Veteran and Gold Star Family at the Got Heart, Give Hope Celebration in Dallas
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 07, 2014 -- Hope For The Warriors® is excited to announce the honorees for the Hope & Courage Awards to be given at the Got Heart, Give Hope® Celebration in the Dallas area. Each honoree, one a veteran of the Marine Corps and the other two Gold Star Parents, are both outstanding examples of strength, hope and courage. All three will be honored at the Got Heart, Give Hope® Celebration on Thursday, March 20, 2014.
Hope & Courage Awards will be given to local service members and military families who have demonstrated both hope and courage in facing challenges after their injuries. Hope For The Warriors® will honor the courage of each award recipient, focusing on the hope they inspire through their remarkable stories of recovery and achievement.
Cpl Zach Briseno, USMC (Ret.) Fort Worth, TX, began working with Hope For The Warriors® many years ago and was one of the first members of Team Hope For The Warriors®, completing the Marine Corps Marathon on his handcycle. Today, Briseno is soon to be married, a devoted father, and plays on a professional Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team.
Terry and Brian Bury are the parents of Sgt. Brandon Bury, a Marine who was killed in action on June 6, 2010 in Afghanistan. The Bury family has taken this tragic loss and demonstrated hope and courage to those in their community and beyond. They are leaders within the Gold Star Family community and have used this tragedy to build support for other Gold Star Families and wounded service members.
The event will be held at the Embassy Suites in Frisco/Dallas, 7600 John Q Hammons Dr, Frisco, TX. Tickets for the event can be purchased at http://www.gotheartgivehope.org. All proceeds will benefit Hope For The Warriors®, a national nonprofit organization that assists combat wounded service members, their families, and families of the fallen.

Hope For The Warriors® will also highlight programs utilized to supporting the needs of today’s military family. Most notably, the Outdoor Adventures Program which utilizes service member’s love of the great outdoors to reengage post injury.
The guest speaker will be Captain Dan Moran, USMC (Ret.). Moran is a combat veteran and the Chairman/CEO of Moran Enterprises, Inc. Moran is a highly decorated combat veteran who served in the Global War on Terror as an Infantry Officer in the Marine Corps. He is the recipient of the Navy Commendation Medal with Valor, the Navy Achievement Medal with Valor, the Combat Action Ribbon, and the Purple Heart.
Moran’s vehicle was hit by an IED while on night patrol on October 21, 2006 in downtown Ramadi, Iraq. The IED killed three of his Marines and severely injured both himself and his vehicle commander. Moran sustained third degree burns on 50% of his body, incurred multiple fractures in his back, suffered an inhalation injury, a concussion and loss of his spleen. He spent almost three years in rehabilitation at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.
The emcee of the evening will be Major Andrew White, USA (Ret.). White is also the host of local radio show, Kilroy’s Conversation on 1160 KVCE radio in Dallas. White is a combat veteran with 20 years of service in the Army. He is an active military advocate with multiple organizations including his role as president of the Veterans Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
