Capital Edge Consulting Returns to Guam to Offer Government Contractor Training Seminar
Tysons Corner, VA and Hagåtña, Guam (PRWEB) June 07, 2017 -- Capital Edge Consulting is pleased to announce another 2-day seminar for government contractors on Guam. The company event page GovConinGuam.com overviews the training seminar designed to help government contracting professionals stay abreast and gain valuable insights into recent legislative, regulatory, and DCAA audit guidance actions. The seminar is being held September 13-14, 2017 at the Westin Resort Guam.
The Record of Decision (ROD) for relocating U.S. Marine Corps forces to Guam was signed in August of 2015, after years of public scoping meetings and roundtable discussions. The Department of Defense (DoD) followed with the release of $309 million for first phase of the Marine Corps base in Guam. The majority of Marines being relocated are expected to be arriving on Guam over the next few years. Infrastructure to support the transition is expected to provide a great opportunity for local contractors and to Guam’s economic development. Total funds related to the build-up are currently expected to exceed $10 Billion, and the project is slated to last several years.
Guam holds a strategic location as the gateway to Asia, making travel to and from Guam fast and convenient from the U.S. Maintaining military installations brings in around $9 billion each year to Guam’s economy. The planned expansion of the U.S. military presence on Guam will add to the economic growth of the island.
“We are committed to offering local training to support Guam government contractors,” said Chad Braley, CEO of Capital Edge Consulting. “This seminar is affordable for government contractors of all sizes, and will assist them in understanding the recent legislative, regulatory, and DCAA audit guidance updates for the Guam contracting community.”
The course is intended for professionals in the areas of accounting, compliance, contract management, finance, internal audit, and in-house counsel. The event will be led by Craig Stetson from Capital Edge Consulting. The Capital Edge team includes recognized experts in the government contracting industry leveraging years of experience. Their goal is to help break down complex rules and regulations into information to help contractors understand and apply it to their contracting initiatives.
The seminar will include a timely update of current “hot topics” related to contracting with the federal government and interacting with the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA). This will include discussions focused on an analysis of what contractors are seeing in the market today and issues they are facing with government contract administration, compliance and interaction with DCAA and DCMA personnel. The experts will also cover the fundamentals of government contracting and insight into construction contracts.
