Kids’ Food Basket began attacking childhood hunger over 10 years ago by serving meals to 125 children with their Sack Supper program. Today, 250 dedicated volunteers pack and deliver nearly 7,500 meals every weekday to kids in western Michigan. They concentrate on providing well-rounded, nutritious meals – nutrition critical to the development of children’s brains and bodies. By distributing the meals in classrooms and local parks, every child who needs a meal can easily and safely receive one. Volunteers also lead juice box and snack drives, as well as educational programs to help kids understand hunger and become part of the solution. Fully one-third of Kids’ Food Basket volunteers are under the age of 18.

“We are honored to do what we can to help Kids’ Food Basket and their fantastic Sack Supper program,” said Mark Noffsinger, owner of Noffsinger Insurance Agencies. “Taking loving care of our most valuable resource – our children – must be the cornerstone of building a stronger community.”

Putting their money where their mouth is, Noffsinger Insurance has promised to donate $10 to the Sack Supper program for each and every person recommended to the agency. Anyone willing to help spread the word about this worthy campaign may recommend someone they know for a new insurance evaluation for their auto, home, life, and more, with no purchase necessary.

Meanwhile, the agency’s caring team is busy mobilizing social media, email and text message communications to promote the initiative for Kids’ Food Basket, and have also dedicated a full page of their monthly magazine to the spotlight the cause. The current issue of Our Hometown magazine, which is delivered to thousands of households in western Michigan, may be viewed here:
