Dr. Granger will oversee Salimetrics’ new R&D Technology Center located in the biotech campus of Carlsbad, CA. Dr. Granger will also lead the research and development group and be involved in some aspects of business development. “Steve’s scientific and business development experience will enable Salimetrics to develop novel assays and technology that will take salivary bioscience in new directions,” Salimetrics CEO and President Hans Schroeder said. “We anticipate his efforts will build on Salimetrics emerging intellectual property portfolio, but more importantly, provide the field of salivary bioscience with new products and tools that will enable high impact research and diagnostics,” he added.
Dr. Granger’s background is biotechnology. Prior to joining Salimetrics, Dr. Granger was affiliated with Tanabe Research Laboratories U.S.A., Inc., Kyowa Hakko Kinn California, and the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology.
“I am really enthusiastic about this opportunity to help grow research and development capabilities and expand Salimetrics' development of new assays and partnerships to enlarge the business in a global way,” Dr. Granger said. “I am interested in working with the academic, medical and dental groups that are interested in moving saliva research forward.”
He added that he intends “to apply his extensive experience in biotechnology to help grow the saliva research field by providing the best, most accurate assays and collection methods.”
Dr. Granger joins a Salimetrics management team consisting of Douglas A. Granger, Ph.D., founder and chief scientific and strategy advisor; CEO and President Hans Schroeder; Robert G. Larson, Ph.D., director of manufacturing; and Scott Fozard, CFO.
