Grant-A-Starr Foundation Gala to Support Pediatric Diagnosis Research
HOUSTON (PRWEB) October 28, 2019 -- The Grant-A-Starr Foundation (http://www.grantastarr.org) is proud to present its annual gala on Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. at the John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science.
One of the Grant-A-Starr Foundation's key fundraising events, the annual gala is a special evening and dinner benefiting the advancement of diagnostic testing to save children’s lives. Since 2006, the foundation has raised more than $1.25 million for research at Texas Children’s Hospital and Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital.
The sixth annual gala will be catered by David + Michael Cordua Events, a long-time partner of the Grant-A-Starr Foundation. Restaurateur Michael Cordúa and Executive Chef David Cordúa, ranked one of the top 10 chefs in Texas, will announce the globally inspired menu. It will be emceed by Jacquie Baly, president of BalyProjects and leader in Houston business and policy communities for more than two decades.
For the sixth year, Houston artist Edgar Medina will paint one of his signature bold abstract paintings live at the gala for auction at the end of the evening. Also hear about the latest transformations in diagnosing infectious disease from leading researchers – Robert Schlaberg, MD, PhD and Chief Medical Officer from IDbyDNA, James Versalovic, MD, PhD and Chief of Pathology from Texas Children's Hospital, and Dr. Rodrigo Hasbun MD, MPH and Infectious Disease Specialist from Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital.
All proceeds from the event go directly to these research projects for life-saving advancements in diagnostic testing to detect early childhood diseases.
