Greenberg Traurig Hosts Americas Society/Council of Americas’ (AS/COA) Sixth Annual Women’s Hemispheric Network Forum in Miami
MIAMI (PRWEB) April 05, 2019 -- Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP. partnered with the Americas Society/Council of Americas (AS/COA) to host the sixth annual Women’s Hemispheric Network Forum in Miami. The forum, “Diversity as a Driver of Growth,” which took place on April 3 in Greenberg Traurig’s Miami office, convened business and community leaders for a series of conversations on opportunities for advancing inclusion in the workplace. Panelists shared personal career trajectories, as well as perspectives on success stories and ways to overcome challenges relative to promoting diversity in the workplace.
“The event included a remarkable array of thought leaders on diversity and talent retention from all of the major corporations in Miami and throughout the region,” said Randy A. Bullard, co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s Miami Corporate Practice. “We have been partnering with the Council of Americas on this event for six years and are thrilled to see the participants’ impact grow in the community.”
The forum kicked off with a fireside chat that featured Patricia Menéndez-Cambó, vice chair of Greenberg Traurig and Mónica Gil, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, who shared insights for women on effective strategies for upward mobility and how to achieve the next level of career success.

Sally Ng, vice president of business and legal Affairs, NBCUniversal International Networks, moderated the first panel on Gender Parity and Inclusion. Panel members included Andrea Grobocopatel, president & founder, FLOR Foundation; José Fornell, principal, Miami, Boston Consulting Group; and Horace O. Porrás, vice president, Human Resources Latin America, American Tower Corporation. Susan Segal, president & CEO, Americas Society/Council of Americas, moderated the second panel on Developing Diverse Leadership in Male Dominated Environments. Panel members included Paula Bellizia, vice president of sales, marketing and operations, Microsoft Latin America; Tish Mendoza, senior vice president, human resources and business services, and chief human resources officer, The AES Corporation; and Gustavo Sorgente, managing director services Latin America, Cisco Systems, Inc.
“This is a dialogue that must be furthered between men and women, both in the workplace and at home. Men have to be engaged at home to allow women to broaden what they do,” said Susan Segal, AS/COA President and CEO.
The event concluded with an interactive lunch discussion in which participants, led by key table leaders, engaged in a dialogue to share their personal experiences striving for gender parity, as well as insights on what their respective companies are doing to promote greater diversity and gender balance in the workplace. Greenberg Traurig Miami Shareholders Alexandra Aguirre and Julissa Rodriguez participated as table leaders during the event.
