Greenstar Home Services Releases New ‘Green It Up™’ DIY Household Cleaner Tips
(PRWEB) March 10, 2016 -- With warm weather approaching and “Spring Cleaning” on the brain, Greenstar Home Services shares new DIY household cleaner tips for their Orange County Homeowners.
Jeremy Prevost, Greenstar CEO comments “We all love that fresh ‘clean’ smell right after we finish cleaning the bathroom, mopping the floors and disinfecting the kitchen. While the scents can be pleasant, at the same time, constantly inhaling those fumes from today’s chemical-based commercial cleaning products can be really bad for you.”
Greenstar Home Services is Orange County California’s leader in sustainable plumbing, HVAC maintenance, and whole home water filtration services.
“We compiled some DIY cleaning solutions and tricks for our homeowners, to provide some options aside from commercial cleaning products” notes Colin Martodam, Greenstar COO.
Martodam continues, “Our team hopes you will consider some of these ‘Green’ options which are better for your health, and the environment.”
DIY Household Cleaner Tips from Greenstar Home Services :
-Baking soda is a great deodorizer, cleaner and water softener.
-Lemon juice is excellent for eliminating household bacteria, while providing a nice natural air freshener.
-White vinegar is a fantastic cleaner that works for removing mildew, eliminating stains and cutting grease.
-Borax is another versatile option for cleaning, disinfecting and deodorizing, and can be used as a DIY laundry detergent.
-Cornstarch can be used for polishing furniture, cleaning windows and shampooing rugs and carpets.
“We do want to confirm that baking soda by itself does not kill any bacteria or microorganisms. It is simply a great surface cleaner and deodorizer. So, once you’ve scrubbed the surface, such as your sink, clean with baking soda and water, wipe everything down with some lemon juice before a final rinse with water. This will not only leave your sink smelling super fresh, but it will disinfect at the same time,” finishes
Jeremy Prevost.
Colin Martodam, Greenstar COO shares “one of our favorite DIY kitchen tricks is to occasionally toss lemon slices down the garbage disposal. After you make your lemon juice and baking soda DIY cleaning solution, run the disposal with the squeezed lemon slices to rid your kitchen of foul odors.”
