New memoir gives testament to restorative power of faith
COLUMBUS, Ohio (PRWEB) January 15, 2015 -- Author Gregory L. Cumberland looks back on his experiences as a minister to show readers the power of redemption through Jesus Christ in his new memoir, “Life After Calamity” (published by WestBow Press).
“God redeemed my life after 18 years, He can do it for someone else,” Cumberland says. “This book will demonstrate God’s faithfulness to His people during the rough times in their lives.”
Cumberland writes openly and honestly about the pain and suffering he says he endured as a result of his disobedience to God. After living without a relationship with God for 18 years, he writes that God heard his cries for mercy and gave him another chance. Today, he has a spirit-filled life full of purpose and meaning, and he has written this book to share his experiences with others who may be struggling to create their own intimacy with God.
An excerpt from “Life After Calamity”:
“I prayed and asked the Lord Jesus to raise my dead spirit as he raised Lazarus in John Chapter 11. When I did, my life changed in an instant. I was no longer spiritually dead but alive in Christ for the first time in eighteen years!”
